20th Container of RUTF to Arrive in Burundi!

900 boxes of RUTF are on their way via shipping container to the country of Burundi. The shipment will arrive in Bujumbura approximately Sept.21/15

• WORLD VISION INTERNATIONAL OFFERING AID: Burundi is in the middle of an election process. Violent clashes have erupted following attempts to oust President Pierre Nkurunziza. So far 55,000 Burundians have fled to neighbouring countries; namely Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 

Facts:

• Burundi ranks 174th out of 182 countries on the Human Development Index
• Only half of children in the area attend school
• Malaria, diarrhea, respiratory infections, and malnutrition are the leading cause of child death here
• More than half of the population lives below the poverty line
